Café Mak is bigger than it looks from the street. Exposed brick, timber beams, classical columns and a wide plank floor, with vintage library seating on one side, a proper restaurant floor on the other, and a string lit patio out back.

People come here to study, to hold a meeting over a pot of tea, to eat dinner, and to stay for a glass of wine. Sit down inside, press the bell on your table, and someone comes to take your order.

Open Late

The last table in Koreatown

The kitchen, the bar and the coffee machine all run until midnight, every night of the week. That is the whole point of this place.

Bring a laptop and take a seat under the string lights on the patio, or find a corner of the library room and stay a while. Nobody will rush you out.

Café Mak, in the vibrant heart of Koreatown, is the ultimate go to for anyone looking to work late, sip on some delicious coffee, and soak up a cozy and unique vibe.

It feels like a Han's Deli back in Korea. It is a cafe and a restaurant at once. They do omurice, kimchi fried rice, spaghetti and so on, with a bit of that 2000s university district diner atmosphere. The portions were just right and the food was good. The place is far bigger than I expected and there is parking too.

Really kind service. It was my first time in LA and in the States, so I did not know much English or how tipping works, and I stumbled through ordering in Korean. They took my order so kindly. Thank you so much to the person on the counter. If you sit inside and press the bell, someone comes over to take your order. The tea comes in a generous pour, and the cup they use to keep it hot has a really unusual shape.

An old cafe with a lovely atmosphere. It is well known for good value on meals too, brunch and dinner alike. The interior is wonderful and the space is generous, so it is one of the better places to sit over a pot of tea for a meeting or to get a group together.
